Questions:

1. How does this prayer raise the bar for what unity in the church should look like?

2. Jesus says “May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.”

- How does this unity achieve this?

- Can you think of ways church unity might be made more visible to others?

3. Jesus wants believers to be “brought to complete unity”. How does this complete unity differ from unity seen in the world (unity at all cost/ unity for unity’s sake)? What’s the difference between attending church having a unity like this?

4. How might following Jesus in self-giving love, by taking up our cross, draw Christians closer together?

5. “Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.” How does it strike you to hear that the Father loves believers even as He loves Jesus?

6. In v24 we learn that Jesus wants us to be with Him and see His glory. What are some ways we can glimpse Christ’s glory now?
