The household of God living for their future?home - 1 Timothy 6:11-21

1 Tim 6 v 11-21 “The household of God living for their future home!”

Intro: What is the Church?

1) Timothy, lead now in the light of eternity (v11-16)

Leading with urgency means RUNNING;

Flee

Pursue

Leading with urgency means BATTLING;

Fight

Take hold of

Leading with urgency is done in the sight of God, who;

Is sending Jesus soon

Is the blessed and only ruler

Is the King of kings

Is the Lord of lords

Is immortal, invisible and who lives in unapproachable light

Is worthy of honour and might forever

2) Church, live according to the fact of eternity (v17-19)

Command the household of God to INVEST;

Put your hope in God NOT in wealth

True enjoyment!

Be rich in good deeds

Lay up treasure for later

Take hold of the life that is truly life

Conclusion to 1 Timothy: Guard the gospel of grace forever
