Introduction
Rock Solid Christianity
“We know”
We know #1 (v15)
God hears us
God answers us
An anticipated problem (vs 16-17)
We know #2 (v18)
Those born of God will not continue to sin
Jesus will keep them safe from the evil one
We know #3 (v19)
We are children of God
The world is controlled by the evil one
We know #4 (v20)
The Son of God has come and given us understanding
We are in Him
Warning: Keep yourselves from idols (v21)

How has your prayer life encouraged or discouraged you in your faith? How might you be more encouraged through prayer?
How has 1 John helped you understand how Christians relate to sin?
Which of the ‘we knows’ do you need to remind yourself more of?
In what ways are you in danger of having a false idea of who Jesus is?
How has 1 John assured you in your faith? How has it challenged you?
Having looked at 1 John how would you help a fellow believer struggling with assurance?
