Questions

1. The end of signs Jesus performed many signs, but people still did not believe, fulfilling Isaiah's prophecy of disbelief.

Why do people place such emphasis on seeing signs? Even as Christians do we place an emphasis on ‘seeing’ God at work rather than knowing that God works His will through all things?

2. Jesus' message on belief Jesus emphasized that belief in him is also belief in God, and he came to save the world, not judge it.

What is the difference between believing faith and believing things about God? How does this difference play out in the lives of those who profess faith?

3. Consequences of unbelief Jesus hid himself after performing many signs, indicating that no more proofs would be given to those who chose not to believe.

Why does Jesus seem to draw a line in the sand at this point? And why should this make evangelism so important?

4. Responsibility for choices Humans bear moral responsibility for their choices, unlike animals acting on instinct.

Why is human moral responsibility both a wonder and a terror?

5. Isaiah's message of judgment Isaiah's vision included a message of judgment for those who fail to believe.

If Isaiah’s message is not a call to missionary service, why does John use the passage in Isaiah 6?
